A wet weekend in England meant that the playing field was more level than usual, giving X-lite pilot Danilo Petrucci the opportunity to win his first ever MotoGP podium. After starting from eighteenth place on the wet track at Silverstone, Danilo rode with determination and managed to claim second position.
In Moto3 continues the triumphal march of Danny Kent in his sixth win of the season. Too bad for Locatelli, Bastianini and Manzi fell just a few laps from the end when they were in fourth, seventh and ninth.
Five-pilot Sam Lowes came 6th.
Next race at Misano on September 13.
Danilo Petrucci: X-lite X-802R “It ‘was an incredible race. I still can not realize what has happened. In warm-up I went fast but the race is another thing. When I passed Pedrosa and Lorenzo I had a moment of fear because I thought that I would put pressure. Then it came also Dovi. I have made up his mind to take Valentine to stay focused. The team did a great job because we were not in place in the dry but we knew how to solve our problems. They gave me all a great confidence and this helped me a lot. I thank the team, the team Pramac, Francesco Guidotti who chose me, family Campinoti and Ducati that gave me confidence. I dedicate this result to my parents, my mother and my father who made many sacrifices to make me run. Repay them so is the greatest thing in the world. ”
Danny Kent: X-lite X-802R “The conditions were difficult throughout the race but especially at the end where you had to be very careful. It was not all easy. I tried to stay calm after the fall of Vinales, and after having taken the lead I tried to stay focused until the end. I am sliding a lot but I made sure not to fall. It ‘really special that you feel when you win in front of a home crowd that applauds you and your family and friends came to see you. The championship is open. Today we have won 25 points but the last two races we had lost 21. You can score points but also lose them quickly. We will continue to work hard until the last race of the season. ”
