In Moto2, Nakagami started the weekend at Silverstone with a brilliant test lap that landed him with the pole position. Unfortunately for him, Brit rider Scott Redding had the whole crowd behind him and after a brilliant start Redding claimed the victory. Nakagami moved through to take the lead with seven laps left, but when he ran wide at Village corner three laps later Redding was able to move back ahead and take his third win of the season.
