Silverstone MotoGP: Podium for Bastianini

fsd

Go & Fun  rider Bastianini, nearly won his first ever race at Silverstone, taking the lead of a large front-running group in the fifth of 17 scheduled laps.

With six laps to go Nolan pilot Bastianini was able to open a gap together with Alex Rins, Alex Marquez and Five rider Miguel Oliveira, and finished the race in third place, just 0.072s behind winner Rins.

“I would really like to have won, because in the last four laps I was in the lead and I thought I had something more than the other riders, but unfortunately, three corners from the finish line, they made me go wide a bit and I couldn’t resist on the outside. I still have to improve a bit my strategy for the final stages of the race.”

“I’m happy anyway, even though the victory this time was really close. Today we had everything to get it, maybe we just lack a little experience, but we are doing it! However, I think that in the next races, starting from the Misano round, we will still be part of the game. After crossing the finish line, while I was greeting Rins for the win, I was hit by Karel Hanika from behind: in the fall I also hit my injured right foot, but fortunately I feel good.”

Watch out for a Nolan X-802R replica of his Go & Fun helmet coming soon to the UK!
